The former commander of Ukraine's 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Stanislav Luchanov, has been detained in Kyiv as part of the investigation into the kidnapping and killing of the Mosiichuk brothers, according to Censor.NET, citing the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the report, Luchanov was traveling around the capital in a car with his lawyer when he was apprehended.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later confirmed the arrest, saying Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko had informed him about the operation.

"Ten people have now been detained. Unfortunately, they include servicemen and the former commander of the 155th Brigade. Everything they did will be thoroughly investigated. This case concerns not only one community or the Kyiv region. Establishing the full truth and bringing everyone responsible to justice is a matter of national importance," Zelenskyy said.

Earlier reports said that nine servicemen from the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade, including a battalion commander, had already been detained. According to investigators, on the night of June 28, a group of soldiers allegedly entered a private home in the village of Kalynivka, Kyiv region, abducted two brothers, and took them to an unknown location.

Media reports have suggested the incident may have stemmed from a dispute over the noise of motorcycles in the village. According to those reports, Luchanov's wife complained to him about local riders, after which he allegedly ordered subordinates to "deal with" the men. Investigators are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the case.
