Girona set to sign promising striker.

Spanish club Girona is close to signing Ukraine U-21 youth international striker Oleksandr Pishchur, according to reputable insider Fabrizio Romano.

Sources say the Spanish side has reached a preliminary agreement with Hungarian club Győr, which owns the player’s rights. Girona will pay €1 million for the 20-year-old forward.

Pishchur is a product of Chernihiv’s Desna academy and previously played at senior level in Ukraine for Munkach. In Hungary, he has represented Puskás Akadémia and Győrmót. He joined Győr last summer, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist in 20 matches for the club.

Three other Ukrainians already play for Girona: U-21 goalkeeper Vladyslav Krapivtsov, as well as senior internationals Viktor Tsyhankov and Vladyslav Vanat.

Girona has won its last three La Liga matches and currently sits 11th in the standings.
