The Frenchman has drawn level with the Portuguese star.

Kylian Mbappé has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s historic record at Real Madrid.

The milestone was reached thanks to Mbappé’s goal against Sevilla in a La Liga Matchday 17 fixture, which Real Madrid won 2–0.

For the 27-year-old forward, it was his 59th goal for Real Madrid in the 2025 calendar year, allowing him to match the club record set by Cristiano Ronaldo for the most goals scored in a single year.

Ronaldo scored 59 goals in 2013, and Mbappé will not have the opportunity to surpass the legendary Portuguese forward, as Real Madrid’s next match will be played in the new year.

“It’s incredible — to do this in my first year, to equal the record of Cristiano, my idol, the greatest player in the history of Real Madrid,” Mbappé said after the match. “Today I wanted to share this with him. We have a very good relationship, he is now my friend, and I send him my greetings, as well as to all Real Madrid fans — Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
