Ukrainian tennis star Elina Svitolina (WTA 13) claimed the WTA 250 hard-court title in Auckland, New Zealand.

In the final, Svitolina defeated China’s Wang Xinyu (WTA 57) in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6, in a match lasting nearly two hours.

“Winning another title is an incredible feeling, especially after a challenging end to last year. The break really helped me reset and return with new energy, and I’m so happy I could take the title here,” Svitolina said after the match.

This marks the 19th career trophy for Svitolina. It was her second Auckland final, having lost to American Coco Gauff in 2024. On her way to the title, she also defeated Varvara Gracheva, Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal, and Iva Jovic.

The tournament was Svitolina’s first of the season following nearly a four-month hiatus. The 31-year-old ended her 2025 season early in September due to emotional fatigue.
