Russia launched another overnight attack on Ukraine using one missile and 121 attack drones from several directions, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
From 6 p.m. on August 30 until the morning of August 31, Russian forces fired one Kh-59 guided air-launched missile from over the Black Sea.
They also launched 121 attack drones, mainly jet-powered Shahed UAVs, as well as Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoys. The drones were launched from areas near Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as occupied Donetsk and Crimea.
As of 8 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 96 drones over northern, southern, eastern and central Ukraine.
The Kh-59 missile failed to reach its target.
Russian weapons struck 11 locations, while debris from intercepted targets was recorded at another eight sites.
Kyiv considers changes to warning system
Kyiv authorities are preparing changes to the city’s air-raid warning system. Officials are considering using different alert signals depending on the type of threat, as well as possible changes to the curfew regime.
The proposals are expected to be presented soon at the initiative of the prime minister.
Meanwhile, repeated Russian strikes on warehouses and distribution centers have raised concerns about possible food shortages in Ukraine. Presidential adviser Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov said European suppliers could fill any potential gaps if necessary, while Ukrainian businesses are currently restructuring their supply chains.
