Russia launched another large-scale overnight attack on several regions of Ukraine on October 21-22, with Kyiv once again the main target, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.
Russian forces used Iskander-M, S-400, Zircon and Oniks missiles launched from Russia’s Kursk, Bryansk and Rostov regions.
The attack also involved 210 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas drones, as well as Parodiya decoys. Of these, 110 were jet-powered. The drones were launched from areas near Millerovo, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Shatalovo in Russia, as well as from Russian-occupied parts of Donetsk region and Crimea.
Ukraine’s Air Force said aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups took part in repelling the attack.
As of 9 a.m. local time, Ukrainian air defenses had neutralized 181 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones, including 87 jet-powered drones.
Another 10 strike drones remained in Ukrainian airspace, with efforts underway to intercept them.
Russian weapons struck 32 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell at eight other locations, the Air Force reported.
