Ukrainian duo Irina Pidhaina and Artem Koval won the Junior Grand Prix stage in Gdańsk, Poland, marking their fourth career gold at this level and their second victory of the season.
They improved on their previous best, scoring 65.69 points in the rhythm dance and narrowly edging out Canadian pair Lila Vaillon and Alexander Brendis by just 0.6 points. Their achievement sets a new national record for most wins by a Ukrainian ice dance pair and makes them the first Ukrainian duo in 24 years to win two Grand Prix stages in a single season.
Pidhaina and Koval have already secured a spot in the Junior Grand Prix Final, marking the first consecutive qualification for a Ukrainian pair in 14 years, matching the feat of Anastasiia Haleta and Oleksii Shumskii.
