Russian forces launched a nighttime assault on Ukraine using strike drones and ballistic missiles, with most aerial targets intercepted by air defenses, though some hits were reported.
According to the Air Force’s Telegram channel, the attack on February 20 included one Iskander-M ballistic missile fired from Rostov Oblast and 128 attack UAVs, including Shahed-type drones and other models — about 80 of them Shaheds. Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, drone units, and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the assault.
As reported by RBC‑Ukraine, a missile strike hit the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv in the morning, damaging seven residential buildings and an administrative structure. Two cars caught fire and windows were blown out in nearby apartments.
In addition, Russian forces carried out more than 20 attacks overnight in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, using drones, artillery, and Grad multiple-launch rocket systems.
