Occupied Crimea, Berdyansk, and the Black Sea came under another wave of drone attacks overnight on July 16–17, with multiple fires reported at infrastructure facilities, according to local monitoring channels and OSINT reports.
Explosions were reported from around 9:40 p.m. local time in Kerch, Simferopol, Feodosia, and Yevpatoriia, with the attacks continuing into the early morning.
By dawn, OSINT analysts reported multiple fire hotspots near the Kerch railway station. NASA's FIRMS satellite fire detection system also indicated active fires in the area. Preliminary reports suggest the fires may have affected:
- warehouses;
- railway freight trains;
- and possibly the Kerch oil depot and the Kerchenskaya electrical substation.
Monitoring channels also reported a fire near the Koktebel electrical substation close to the village of Shchebetivka.
Separately, reports indicated that drones may have struck energy infrastructure in occupied Berdyansk, causing another fire.
In the Black Sea, preliminary reports said six to seven vessels linked to Russia's shadow fleet were also targeted during the overnight operation.
