Russia struck the city of Pavlohrad in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region with a guided aerial bomb for the first time, killing two people and injuring at least 13 others, regional officials said.
According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, 11 of the wounded were hospitalized in moderate condition, including a 13-year-old girl. Two others received outpatient treatment, while a one-year-old girl was also being examined by doctors.
Ukraine's State Emergency Service said the attack damaged an apartment building, sparking fires in several flats and surrounding areas. Multiple vehicles were also damaged.
Regional council head Mykola Lukashuk said Russia used a modified guided bomb capable of striking targets deeper inside Ukrainian territory.
"Pavlohrad has endured missile and Shahed drone attacks, but it had never been hit by guided aerial bombs before," Lukashuk said. "The enemy has upgraded these bombs, allowing them to reach farther. Unfortunately, this is now a new reality for Pavlohrad."
He urged residents to heed air raid alerts and closely follow updates from the Ukrainian Air Force and official monitoring channels.
The strike comes a day after Russian guided bombs hit Zaporizhzhia, killing two people and injuring at least 10 others, while causing extensive damage to residential buildings.
