On the night of February 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 105 strike drones from multiple directions. Most of the enemy targets were intercepted by air defense forces, according to the Ukrainian Air Force Telegram channel.

From 18:00 on February 27 to the morning of February 28, Russia launched an Iskander-M missile from Voronezh region and 105 drones of types Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others from:
Russian regions: Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo
Occupied territories: Donetsk, Hvardiiske, Crimea (occupied by Russia)
Around 60 drones were Shaheds. The attack was countered by aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, UAV defense, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 08:00, air defense systems had intercepted or suppressed 96 enemy drones across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
6 strike drones hit targets, and debris fell in 7 locations.

Previous attacks
On the night of February 27, Russia launched nearly 200 drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces eliminated most targets, though 20 strike drones hit 14 locations.
In the morning, Russian forces targeted central Sumy, causing a hotel fire. About 50 people were evacuated, and a second strike targeted rescue teams. No personnel were injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Strike drones also hit civilian and port infrastructure in Odesa region, leaving two people injured, damaging the port and homes, and destroying a kindergarten.
