On the night of February 19, Russia’s Pskov region was attacked by unidentified drones. In the city of Velikiye Luki, an oil depot caught fire following the strikes.
Russian Telegram channels reported that videos began circulating on social media shortly after midnight, allegedly showing the facility on fire.
Regional governor Mikhail Vedernikov said unknown drones had targeted civilian infrastructure.
“A UAV attack on civilian infrastructure facilities is underway in Velikiye Luki. Please stay away from windows; if you are outside, take shelter in the nearest building or premises,” he wrote on social media.
More footage of the blaze appeared later, and Vedernikov stated that a fuel storage tank had ignited in the Pskov region. Monitoring channels suggested the hit site may be involved in storing and transporting petroleum products, noting that due to the importance of fuel for logistics, the facility could be strategically significant. They also pointed out that a key railway line is located near the site.
