In Russia’s Smolensk region, drones attacked the Dorogobuzh nitrogen fertilizer plant, causing a fire, according to the opposition outlet ASTRA. Dorogobuzh is a major chemical facility producing nitrogen fertilizers and other chemical products, including ammonium nitrate, which can be used for both civilian and military purposes.
The plant is located about 300 km from the Ukrainian border near the settlement of Verkhnyodniprovsky. Previously, on the night of February 19, drones struck Russia’s Pskov region, hitting an oil depot in Velikiye Luki, which had protective netting over its tanks.
Additionally, on the night of February 23, long-range drones from the SBU targeted the Kaleykino oil pumping station in Tatarstan, a key facility feeding oil into the Druzhba pipeline. The attack triggered six explosions, igniting a large fire and oil tank blaze.
