On the night of March 1, Russia attacked Ukraine with 123 strike drones launched from four directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the hostile UAVs.
This was reported on Telegram by the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the military, from 18:00 on Feb. 28 until the morning of March 1, Russian forces launched 123 attack drones — including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types — from the directions of Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 70 of them were Shahed drones.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems forces, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. As of 08:30, preliminary data indicates that air defenses shot down or suppressed 110 enemy drones across the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 13 strike drones hit targets at seven locations, and debris from downed drones fell at four sites.
Attacks on Ukraine
Earlier in the morning on March 1, Russian troops struck a dormitory in Kharkiv with a drone. The attack sparked a fire and injured two women.
On the night of Feb. 28, Russia also attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 105 strike drones from various directions. Air defenses shot down 96 UAVs. Six drones hit targets, and debris fell at seven locations.
Russian forces also struck a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk region, where a drone hit an electric locomotive and injured the driver.
In addition, the day before, Russia attacked Dnipro with drones. A downed Shahed fell about 10 meters from the home of city mayor Borys Filatov.
