Four vessels were targeted in a drone attack in Russia's Taganrog Bay overnight, leaving one person dead, according to Rostov region Governor Yury Slyusar.
Slyusar said the attack struck four vessels of various types. A crew member aboard a technical support vessel was killed, he said.
According to the governor, Russian air defenses intercepted more than 15 drones over Taganrog and the Azovsky and Neklinovsky districts.
Among the targeted vessels was a tanker carrying methanol. Russian media reported that there was no threat of a chemical spill and that the vessels sustained only minor damage.
The attack follows another night of drone strikes in Taganrog, when fires broke out near the city's port and an aviation college.
Earlier this year, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reported destroying an Iskander missile system and two Tu-142 aircraft at a military airfield in the city. By the end of June 2026, Ukrainian drones had also struck eight of Russia's ten largest oil refineries, significantly reducing the country's oil refining capacity.
