Russian forces attacked civilian and port infrastructure in the Odesa Oblast with strike drones during the night of February 27, injuring two people and causing significant damage.
This was reported by the head of the regional administration, Oleh Kiper, on Telegram.
According to him, a 3.5-year-old girl and a 44-year-old man were injured in the attack. Both were hospitalized in moderate condition and are receiving the necessary medical care.
The strike damaged port reservoirs, a construction crane, the facade and windows of a residential building, cars, and a medical facility, while a kindergarten building was destroyed.
Emergency and municipal services are continuing to work at the scene. Law enforcement officers are documenting what Ukrainian authorities describe as another war crime committed by Russia against civilians in the region.
Wider overnight attack
During the night of February 27, Russian forces launched nearly 200 drones at Ukraine. Most of the aerial targets were intercepted by air defense forces, though 20 strike drones hit 14 locations.
Earlier in the morning, Russian forces also attacked the center of Sumy. A hotel caught fire as a result of the strike, and rescuers evacuated about 50 people.
While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, Russian forces carried out a second strike targeting rescuers, though none of them were injured.
