The russian ministry of defense has claimed that its troops captured Rizdv’yanka village in Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian forces reject this, saying the settlement remains under armed forces of Ukraine control.
Southern Defense Forces spokesperson Vladyslav Voloshyn explained that over the past two weeks, russia has repeatedly claimed to take control of settlements along the Huliaipilsk direction, but these reports are false.
He added that Rizdv’yanka is located at least 20 kilometers west of the frontline. Settlements closer to the line include Prydorozhne, Dobropillia, and Ternuvate, with fighting ongoing just a few kilometers east of Dobropillia, where Ukrainian forces are conducting successful counterattacks.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, intercepted communications indicated that russian forces attempted to infiltrate small groups near Kosivtseve, Prydorozhne, and Rizdv’yanka, but these groups were detected and neutralized.
Voloshyn emphasized that russia continues spreading disinformation for propaganda purposes, falsely claiming control over Ukrainian territory to strengthen its position in negotiations and present imaginary battlefield successes.
Previous russian claims, such as capturing Hlushkivka in Kharkiv and Ternuvate in Zaporizhzhia, were also refuted by Ukrainian forces. The Defense Forces confirmed that enemy sabotage groups were intercepted, with some eliminated and others captured, highlighting the ongoing effectiveness of Ukraine’s defensive operations.
