Ukrainian air defenses destroyed more than 400 aerial targets during a massive Russian overnight attack on Thursday, February 26.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 420 attack drones — including 280 Shahed drones — and 38 missiles at Ukraine. The missiles included 24 Kh-101 cruise missiles, two Kh-59/69 missiles, 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and two 3M22 Zircon hypersonic missiles.
Ukrainian aviation, mobile fire groups, air defense missile units, electronic warfare forces and drone units intercepted 374 drones — including Shahed, Italmas and Gerbera types — and 32 missiles, among them Iskander-M, Zircon, Kh-101 and Kh-69.
Hits were recorded at 32 locations, where five missiles and 46 attack drones struck targets. Debris from intercepted aerial targets fell in 15 other locations. Several Russian drones were still detected in Ukrainian airspace at the time of reporting.
Russian forces targeted gas infrastructure in the Poltava region and energy facilities in the Odesa, Kyiv and Dnipro regions. In the Poltava region, strikes hit facilities belonging to an industrial enterprise, causing power outages.
In Kyiv, damage was reported in three districts. In Kharkiv, 14 people were injured, including a seven-year-old boy. In Kryvyi Rih, a Shahed drone struck a residential high-rise building, leaving two people injured.
