Russia carried out a large-scale attack on Ukraine using drones as well as ballistic and cruise missiles. Destruction, fires and power outages were reported in several regions. In the Kyiv Oblast, rescuers pulled people from under the rubble, while energy infrastructure was damaged in Odesa.

What Russia used in the attack

Around 2 a.m., groups of Russian attack drones began entering Ukrainian airspace. Later, Russia launched MiG-31K aircraft, which carry Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles. Strategic bombers Tu‑95MS and Tu‑160 were also detected in the air. Monitoring channels suggested that Zircon missiles might have been launched from occupied Crimea.

Amid the attack, Poland scrambled its own and allied aircraft due to the activity of Russia’s long-range aviation striking Ukraine.

According to the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, a woman and a child from the suburbs were hospitalized. Preliminary reports indicate they were injured after debris fell in a private residential area. The capital was attacked with ballistic weapons and drones.
