A Russian drone struck Kyiv’s Northern Bridge on October 3, damaging the road surface and the trolleybus contact network, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said.
The strike followed an air-raid alert issued in Kyiv at around 6:38 a.m. amid a threat from attack drones. Explosions were reported shortly afterward, and the impact on the Northern Bridge was confirmed at about 6:56 a.m.
Emergency services were dispatched to the site, while specialists began assessing the damage.
Traffic from the left bank to the right bank across the bridge was suspended. Kyivpastrans reported delays and changes affecting several bus and trolleybus routes.
The Northern Bridge is an important transport link between several major residential areas on Kyiv’s left bank and the city’s right bank.
The strike followed repeated Russian attacks on Kyiv’s bridges in recent days. On October 1, drones struck the Southern Bridge, damaging infrastructure and disrupting metro and surface transport. The Southern Bridge was attacked again on October 2.
Reuters reported that the latest attack on the Northern Bridge caused no injuries.
