Confirmed Russian military losses recorded by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces increased by 39.7% during the first five days of October compared with the same period in September, SBS Commander Robert “Magyar” Brovdi said.
From October 1 to 5, SBS units recorded 2,699 confirmed Russian infantry killed or wounded, compared with 1,931 during the same period in September, according to figures cited by Brovdi from Ukraine’s Delta battlefield information system.
The October figure was also 76.5% higher than during the first five days of August, when SBS units recorded 1,529 Russian losses.
Brovdi said the increase coincided with a rise in the density and frequency of Russian attacks and argued that the figures indicated a new wave of hidden mobilization in Russia. That assessment is Brovdi’s interpretation of the battlefield data, rather than independent confirmation of a mobilization campaign.
The largest increase was recorded in the Dobropillia-Pokrovsk sector, in the area of responsibility of the 1st National Guard Corps “Azov.” SBS units recorded 1,268 Russian casualties there in the first five days of October, compared with 884 in September and 664 in August. That represents increases of 43% and 91%, respectively.
Brovdi stressed that the figures cover only losses attributed to SBS units and do not include the results of other Ukrainian Defense Forces. He said the statistics were based on verified records and analysis rather than estimates or rumors.
The figures come as Russia continues to increase the intensity of attacks along several sectors of the front, while Ukraine seeks to expand its use of unmanned systems and other technologies to inflict losses and slow Russian advances.
