Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv overnight on September 30, using jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles, killing two people and injuring four others, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
The attack, which began on the evening of September 29 and continued into the night, caused fires and damage in four districts of the capital.
In the Sviatoshynskyi district, a private house caught fire and around 10 other houses were damaged.
In the Podilskyi district, Russian forces struck a non-residential building, causing a fire on the roof and construction materials on the sixth floor. A warehouse also caught fire and was damaged, while firefighters extinguished a separate blaze at a two-story private house.
In the Holosiivskyi district, fires broke out at a bathhouse, a utility building and a concrete mixer. All were extinguished.
In the Solomianskyi district, grass and vegetation caught fire in an open area.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said two people were killed and four injured in the capital. Reuters also reported that Russian air strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding region killed three people and injured seven, with a child among those killed in the Kyiv region.
The latest attack followed another combined Russian strike on Kyiv on September 29, which damaged an educational institution and an administrative building.
