Ukraine's parliament has approved a 90-day extension of martial law and general mobilization, keeping both measures in force until October 31, 2026.
The decision marks the 20th extension since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted the relevant draft laws, which were approved by the Verkhovna Rada with the required majority.
Key obligations under martial law
Men aged 18–60 who are liable for military service must:
- remain registered with the territorial recruitment center (TCC);
- keep their personal information up to date;
- carry identification and military registration documents;
- report to the TCC or training centers when summoned;
- undergo an annual military medical examination.
Mobilization rules
Mandatory mobilization applies to medically fit men aged 25–60 who are not exempt from service.
Men aged 18–24 may be mobilized only in limited cases, such as reserve officers or those who have completed previous military service. Otherwise, they may join the Armed Forces only by signing a voluntary contract.
Women registered for military service may serve only on a voluntary basis.
