Ukrainian Air Assault Forces say the situation on the front line remains highly dynamic as their troops conduct offensive operations in the Oleksandrivka direction, where the borders of the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions meet.
According to the command of the Air Assault Forces, Ukrainian units have already cleared eight settlements of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
The military says their objective is to prevent Russian advances toward the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, defeat enemy forces and push Russian troops back beyond the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region.
Ukrainian paratroopers are simultaneously repelling Russian attacks and advancing on this sector of the front.
“The enemy is clinging to every meter of captured territory, using all available resources — both manpower and equipment,” the statement said.
Despite heavy resistance from Russian forces, Ukrainian airborne units continue to regain territory. The operation is still ongoing.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s southern defense forces said that since the end of January Ukrainian counterattacks in the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka directions have restored control over more than 300 square kilometers of territory.
