Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a series of strikes on key Russian military and military-industrial targets between July 16 and the early hours of July 17, hitting naval vessels, fuel infrastructure, bridges and a major oil refinery, Ukraine's General Staff said.
According to the military, the strikes damaged two tankers, a tugboat, the Project 10410 Svetlyak patrol ship, the TES-Terminal-1 oil terminal in occupied Kerch, the Shakhtarsk oil depot in occupied Donetsk region, and the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Russia's Yaroslavl.
The General Staff said the targeted vessels had been used to transport oil, petroleum products and liquefied gas in circumvention of international sanctions, as well as to supply Russian forces with fuel.
In occupied Kerch, Ukrainian forces also struck port infrastructure, the Svetlyak patrol ship, and a fuel storage facility. The patrol vessel is used by Russia to patrol coastal waters, escort ships and support naval operations.
Ukraine also targeted the railway and road bridges over the Kalmius River near Staromaryivka in Donetsk region and near Kozyno in Russia's Kursk region, which the military said are used for Russian logistics.
The General Staff added that the Slavneft-YANOS refinery, one of Russia's largest with an annual processing capacity of about 15 million tonnes of crude oil, caught fire after being hit.
Additional strikes targeted a Russian logistics depot near Pokrovsk and a command-and-observation post near Novotroitske in Donetsk region, according to the military.
