The village of Minkivka in Ukraine’s Donetsk region remains under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and reports of its capture by Russian troops are false.

This was stated by the Eastern Group of Forces on Facebook.

“Minkivka on the Sloviansk axis is under the control of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Our units continue to carry out combat missions along their designated positions,” the military said.

The group emphasized that claims by Russian propaganda about the alleged capture of Minkivka do not correspond to reality and are part of information and psychological operations aimed at creating an illusion of battlefield successes that do not exist.

Earlier, on January 17, the Eastern Group of Forces also denied Russian statements about the capture of the village of Pryvillia in Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces have likewise refuted reports of the occupation of Andriivka in Sumy region.

In recent days, information has circulated online claiming that Russian troops had seized the settlements of Serebrianka and Dronivka in Donetsk region. However, the Air Assault Forces of Ukraine dismissed these reports, stating that the Defense Forces continue to hold positions within these settlements and along adjacent defensive lines.

The military noted that all attempts by the enemy to advance or entrench are being thwarted by Ukrainian firepower and counteractions. The situation remains tense, while command and control are being maintained in normal operational mode.
