According to the president, work is currently underway on security guarantees.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a new meeting in a Ukraine–Russia–USA format on ending the war will take place soon, although its exact format has not yet been determined. He stressed that peace is “priority number one” for him and the переговорна (negotiating) team.

“Due to the war in the Middle East, our meetings were postponed. The last one we had was in a video format. There was a conversation with representatives of the team of the President of the United States, and we agreed that a trilateral meeting will take place in the near future, or there will be a format where the American team will come to us, and then, probably, go to neighboring countries,” Zelenskyy said.

The president added that work is currently ongoing on a document regarding security guarantees for Ukraine. Key issues remain unresolved, including how to finance the Ukrainian army after the war, how to obtain air defense systems important for Europe and the Middle East, and—most importantly—the response of the United States in the event of renewed Russian aggression, should it occur.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that negotiations on resolving the war in Ukraine are currently on pause. At the same time, he noted that Russia and Ukraine continue to maintain separate contacts with the United States through their own channels and exchange information.

The Kremlin also expressed hope that after the conflict in the Middle East ends, Washington will have more time to focus on resolving the war in Ukraine.
