Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is preparing for talks with European partners on creating a joint air defense system.

According to the Presidential Office, Zelenskyy announced that negotiations with European countries are expected to take place this week.

“This week we will have a conversation with Europeans—negotiations on creating a joint system for protecting the sky,” he said.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine’s integration into the European security system is a matter of strategic choice.

“I am convinced: either Ukraine becomes an integral part of Europe’s security system, or some in Europe risk becoming part of the ‘Russian world,’” he added.

The president noted that Ukraine already has significant experience in countering aerial threats, particularly kamikaze drones, and is ready to share this expertise.

“Radar coverage, electronic warfare systems, communication between air defense components, and interception itself—Ukraine is capable of all this,” he said.

He also pointed out that Ukrainian solutions are already being used beyond Europe. Interception systems are reportedly operating in the Middle East and the Gulf region, including in cooperation with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.

According to Zelenskyy, other countries—such as Turkey, Kuwait, and Oman—are also interested in Ukraine’s experience, and such cooperation has an economic dimension.

“Ukraine is a global producer of strength and security—and will remain so. These are not gifts. Long-term security agreements in the Middle East bring annual revenue, fuel supplies, and access to weapons we lack but our partners have,” he concluded.
