On the night of December 2 (from 18:00 on December 1), Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using 62 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Geran, and other types, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram.
The drones were launched from regions including Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea and Donetsk. Over 35 of the drones were Shaheds, whose warheads typically weigh around 50 kilograms.
Ukraine’s air defense — anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and drone units, and mobile fire groups — engaged the attack. As of 08:30, preliminary data show that air defenses destroyed 39 enemy UAVs across northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country. Meanwhile, impacts from 20 attack drones were recorded at eight locations.
Yesterday’s attack (on December 1) was similar in scale and outcome: air defenses shot down 63 of 89 drones, while 26 strikes were confirmed. The attack continues, with several enemy UAVs still active over Ukraine’s skies. The Air Force urges everyone to follow safety rules.
