Russia’s Druzhba oil pipeline has again been hit, this time in the Tambov region. According to Interfax-Ukraine, citing sources in Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), the pipeline was targeted near the settlement of Kazinski Vysilky on the Taganrog–Lipetsk section.
HUR sources said explosives with remote detonation, combined with flammable materials to increase the blaze, were used. Local Russian social media reported a loud explosion accompanied by bright flashes.
Tambov Governor Yevgeny Pervishov said in the morning that debris from drones caused a fire at an oil depot in the region, without specifying whether anyone was injured or naming the affected facility.
Monitoring of local sources suggests the site may be the Nikiforovskaya oil depot, owned by Rosneft, in the village of Dmitrivka, about 45 km from Tambov. The depot contains 14 tanks with a total capacity of 10,440 cubic meters. At the end of November, the depot was merged into Rosneft’s Voronezh subsidiary, Voronezhneftproduct.
Currently, the Druzhba pipeline delivers oil to Hungary and Slovakia, the last two EU countries still purchasing Russian pipeline crude.
