Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing their defensive operations in Pokrovsk. Claims by German outlet Bild that Russian troops have fully captured the city and that fighting has ended are not true, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Main Communications Directorate said.
“The position of Ukrainian command remains firm. The situation in Pokrovsk is extremely difficult, but our forces continue to hold the northern part of the city roughly along the railway line. Active operations are also underway to eliminate enemy strongpoints. In both Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, measures are being taken to maintain logistics and to prevent the enemy from massing assault infantry groups or advancing around populated areas,” said Dmitro Lykhoviy, spokesperson for the General Staff’s Main Communications Directorate.
On 2 December, 201 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian forces were recorded. Ukrainian troops are organizing additional logistical routes to Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad to ensure uninterrupted support for their units.
