During the night of April 5–6, special forces of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine destroyed the Slavyanin ferry using drones. It was the last Russian rail ferry operating in the Kerch Strait, supplying occupying forces in Crimea.
The information was reported via the official Telegram channel of Ukraine’s military intelligence.
The ferry was part of the so-called Kerch ferry crossing. It was used to transport fuel and lubricants, weapons and ammunition, as well as military equipment to the occupied peninsula.
The strike was carried out overnight on April 5–6, 2026. Specialists from HUR’s Active Operations Department disabled the vessel with drone attacks.
This was not the first strike on the Slavyanin — it had been damaged in March during a previous operation but remained afloat at the time. Following the latest attack, the ferry has now been completely put out of operation.
At the same time, Ukrainian intelligence struck infrastructure at the Port Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar region, which is used to supply Russian forces.
Drone strikes were also reported in Russia’s Republic of Adygea, where airfield infrastructure was hit.
In March, Ukraine surpassed Russia for the first time in the number of drone attacks, although the number of Russian strikes has also been increasing each month.
