The “clearing” of Kupiansk is in its final stage, with Ukrainian forces carefully securing the town to avoid endangering civilians. About 80 Russian soldiers remain in the city, according to Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces, speaking on “My-Ukraine.”
He added that the number of occupiers in Kupiansk is decreasing by four to five soldiers each day. “Russian troops will not be able to regain access to the city within the timeframes they need,” Trehubov said, noting that losing control of Kupiansk effectively prevents further Russian advances in this sector of the front.
