Russia attacks energy infrastructure: consumers in five regions left without electricity

Due to hostilities and Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, part of consumers in the Odesa Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Kherson Oblast, and Chernihiv Oblast temporarily remain without electricity, according to Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.

Energy workers are operating in an enhanced emergency mode to restore power as quickly as possible, with repair works continuing around the clock.

The ministry notes that the most difficult situation is currently in the Chernihiv Oblast, where energy facilities in several districts were damaged as a result of shelling.

At the same time, no scheduled nationwide restrictions are currently expected. Citizens are advised to follow updates from their regional power distribution companies.

Authorities also urge consumers to use electricity sparingly during peak morning and evening hours to reduce strain on the grid.

It was previously reported that rolling outages were reintroduced across Ukraine starting Friday, April 3, though the stated cause was linked to regulatory decisions by the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, rather than weather or direct strikes.
