Russia launched an overnight air attack on Ukraine on January 10, firing one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 121 attack drones, Ukraine’s Air Force said.
According to the statement, Ukrainian air defenses neutralized 94 enemy drones. The missile was launched from Russia’s Kursk region, while the drones were launched from several directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from Chauda in Russian-occupied Crimea. About 80 of the drones were Shahed-type UAVs.
The assault was repelled by fighter aircraft, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s defense forces.
As of 8:30 a.m. local time, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 94 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones over northern, southern and eastern regions of the country, the Air Force said. It added that the ballistic missile and 27 attack drones struck 15 locations, while debris from downed drones was reported at one site.
