On the evening of January 8, Russian occupation forces attacked Kryvyi Rih, launching two Iskander ballistic missiles at residential apartment buildings. According to Alexander Vilkul, head of the City Defense Council, 10 people were injured in the attack.
"One man is in critical condition in the operating room, having lost a leg due to the explosion," Vilkul reported. A city aid center has been set up to provide assistance, including building materials, temporary housing, and applications for financial support. Authorities warned that multiple Shahed drones are still approaching the city.
Dnipropetrovsk Regional Governor Vladyslav Haivanenko confirmed five injured, including a child, with a 57-year-old man in serious condition. Windows and balconies of several apartment buildings were damaged, and local infrastructure suffered as a result of the strike.
Vilkul first warned of the Russian ballistic missile attack on Kryvyi Rih at 17:00. By 17:45, he reported: "The bastards hit two residential buildings with Iskander ballistic missiles. Assistance is being provided to the victims."
In addition, Russian forces targeted the Kamyanskyi district and Vasylkivska community with drones, while also striking areas in the Nikopol, Pokrovska, Myrivska, and Marhanets communities throughout the day. For these attacks, the occupiers used FPV drones and artillery, causing damage to buildings and infrastructure.
