A Russian overnight attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured 15 others, with strikes and fires reported across multiple districts of the Ukrainian capital, the State Emergency Service (SES) said.
Emergency crews responded to damage and blazes in the Dniprovskyi, Desnianskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Sviatoshynskyi districts.
In Solomianskyi district, firefighters battled a blaze in an office building, while a separate strike damaged a nine-story apartment block, where a 200-square-meter fire was still being extinguished. A non-residential building also caught fire.
In Shevchenkivskyi district, a fire engulfed a three-story building over an area of about 400 square meters, while more than 10 parked vehicles burned nearby. The blast wave also shattered windows in a neighboring 25-story residential building.
A private home's roof caught fire in Sviatoshynskyi district, while a non-residential building burned in Desnianskyi district. In Dniprovskyi district, fires broke out in several locations, including vehicles, a non-residential building and a four-story dormitory.
Emergency officials said damage assessments are ongoing and the full consequences of the attack are still being determined.
