The Russian army carried out artillery strikes and attacked Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with drones during the night and morning of Wednesday, April 15. As a result of damage to energy facilities, parts of several regions have been partially left without electricity, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
Power outages have been reported in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Sumy regions. In some communities, outages are also ongoing due to weather conditions and damage to local networks.
Despite this, the Ministry of Energy stated that scheduled hourly blackouts will not be applied today. The power system is operating in a stabilization mode, and repair crews are carrying out restoration work.
At the same time, the ministry urged citizens to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak hours (18:00–22:00) in order to reduce strain on the grid and help prevent further emergency shutdowns.
