Russian forces struck the railway station in Lozova, Kharkiv region, on Sunday morning, June 14, injuring two railway employees, according to Ukraine’s Ministry for Communities and Territories Development.
The ministry said the attack damaged locomotives. A train driver and an assistant driver were injured and received prompt medical assistance.
Meanwhile, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, head of Ukrzaliznytsia, reported that railway infrastructure in Mykolaiv region had also come under attack overnight.
“Thanks to the timely work of monitoring teams and station personnel, locomotive crews were warned and managed to reach safety. During the evacuation, the driver and assistant driver were injured by flying ballast stones. They received medical assistance on site and did not require hospitalization,” he said, commenting on the Lozova attack.
The ministry stressed that railway workers continue to ensure stable transport connections despite ongoing attacks.
Earlier this week, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Konotop and struck a locomotive depot. One railway employee was killed and four others were injured in that attack.
