President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported on strikes against key targets in Russia and temporarily occupied territories, stating that Ukraine continues its long-range campaign in response to Russia’s ongoing aggression.
According to Zelensky’s Telegram statement, Ukrainian Security Service units struck an oil facility in Russia’s Yaroslavl region, which plays a role in maintaining the country’s strategic fuel reserves, located more than 700 km from the Ukrainian border.
He also confirmed a strike on the “Azot” chemical plant in Russia’s Tula region, noting that the facility is important for the production of explosives used in Russia’s military industry.
Zelensky added that flight restrictions were temporarily introduced at six Russian airports, while air raid alerts were declared across 28 regions of Russia overnight. He also said that strikes targeted military logistics facilities in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
Ukraine, he said, continues implementing its strategy of “long-range sanctions” against Russia, aiming to increase pressure on Moscow after its refusal to end the war. Zelensky also stressed that Ukraine has repeatedly offered negotiations in various formats, but continues to face further escalation from Russia.
“It is quite logical that the war is returning to where it started. Ukraine needs peace,” the President said.
Ukrainian military sources also reported drone strikes on the “Titan” plant in occupied Armyansk in Crimea, a major titanium dioxide production facility that is also linked to materials used in explosives and rocket propellant production.
