Port infrastructure and an enterprise were damaged.
On the night of Wednesday, April 8, Russian forces attacked the city of Izmail in the southern Odesa region using strike drones. According to the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, port infrastructure and one of the enterprises were damaged.
“The enemy continues to deliberately target logistics and port infrastructure. In Izmail, as a result of hits, facilities of port infrastructure at one of the enterprises were damaged,” the ministry’s press service said.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the strikes caused fires, including in warehouse facilities. All fires were promptly extinguished by rescuers. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
The Izmail District State Administration said in the morning that the situation is under control, and emergency services are working at the strike sites.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia launched 176 strike drones of various types overnight, 146 of which were intercepted by air defenses. At the same time, 24 drones hit targets across 12 locations, while several UAVs remain in the airspace, particularly over the southern part of the Odesa region.
