Russian forces launched a night attack on Ukraine using strike drones from several directions, while most targets were destroyed by air defense systems.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy used 119 drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas, launched from directions such as Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), Hvardiyiske (occupied Crimea), and Donetsk. About 70 of them were Shaheds.
The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces. By 8:00, air defense had shot down or suppressed 119 drones across the north, south, and east of the country.
At the same time, 16 strike drones hit targets across 11 locations, and debris from downed drones fell in four additional locations. Authorities warned that the attack was ongoing, with several drones still in the air and urged citizens to follow safety rules.
In parallel, Russian forces struck several regions. Late in the evening, a substation in the Odesa region was attacked, causing significant damage to energy infrastructure. In the morning, Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area came under fire, with powerful explosions reported and smoke rising over the city.
