Long-range strike drones operated by the Alpha Special Operations Center of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) attacked key Russian military targets overnight on Tuesday, January 6, in Russia’s Lipetsk and Kostroma regions.
According to sources in the SBU cited by Novyny.LIVE, the strikes targeted the missile and artillery arsenal of the 100th Main Missile and Artillery Directorate, which Russia used to supply ammunition to lower-level depots supporting the central and western operational directions, as well as the Gerkon Plus oil depot in Striletskiye Khutory.
The oil depot reportedly supplied petroleum products to three Russian regions — Lipetsk, Voronezh and Tambov. Powerful explosions were heard at the arsenal site in the Kostroma region due to the detonation of ammunition. Large-scale fires broke out at both locations following the strikes.
