The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the strike on the Saratov oil refinery, drone storage facilities at the “Saky” airfield in occupied Crimea, and several other Russian military sites during the night of November 28.
The Saratov oil refinery in Russia’s Saratov region produces more than 20 types of petroleum products — gasoline, fuel oil, diesel fuel, technical sulfur, and more — and supplies the needs of the Russian military. After the drone attack on the refinery, several explosions were heard and a fire was observed. The exact results of the strike are still being clarified.
As for the strike on the “Saky” airfield near Novofedorivka in Crimea, preliminary information indicates that several air defense assets were destroyed, including a Pantsir-S1 and a Tor-M2 system.
“After suppressing the enemy’s air defense systems, a hangar storing enemy Orion and Forpost drones was destroyed. Additionally, a command and control post and a KamAZ military truck were hit,” the General Staff reported.
Ukrainian forces also targeted concentrations of Russian troops and fuel depots in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions during the night.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, also reported an attack on Engels. The city is located on the left bank of the Volga River, while Saratov lies nearby on the right bank of the same river.
