Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready for “mirror actions” in response to statements by Vladimir Putin about a possible Easter ceasefire.

He stressed that Ukraine had repeatedly proposed a ceasefire during the Easter period and would act accordingly. “Ukraine has consistently stated that we are ready for mirror steps. We proposed a ceasefire for the Easter holidays this year and will act in response. People need an Easter without threats and real movement toward peace, and Russia has a chance not to return to strikes even after Easter,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, a short-term ceasefire of two to three days would not allow Russia to significantly change the situation on the battlefield.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denied that such an initiative had come from Ukraine and said that no decision on an Easter ceasefire had been made.
