Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Yevhen Khmara, highlighting results from recent special operations and approving new missions.
Zelensky emphasized that SBU operations are proceeding according to Ukraine’s strategic needs. “Yevhen reported on recent operations. It’s too early to disclose details publicly, but the results we expected have been achieved. New operations have also been approved,” he said.
He added that the SBU continues to act vigorously on the domestic front, countering Russian sabotage, blocking collaboration with enemy forces, and disrupting Russian structures in Ukraine.
“The Security Service of Ukraine continues to prevent all forms of sabotage and collaboration with the enemy. Any activity by Russian structures in Ukraine is consistently blocked. Thanks to all SBU operatives and special forces protecting our state and national interests. Glory to Ukraine!” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
The SBU appointed Major General Yevhen Khmara, head of the SBU Special Operations Center “A,” as Acting Chief on January 5, following the resignation of Vasyl Malyuk, who led the agency since 2022. Malyuk will remain within the service to continue conducting high-level asymmetric special operations.
