Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine is ready to observe the Easter ceasefire and act in a reciprocal (“mirror”) manner in response to Russia’s actions.
He stated that if Russia refrains from strikes on Ukraine in the air, at sea, and on land, Ukraine will also not carry out attacks in return. Zelenskyy added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are prepared for any developments on the front line.
According to him, the proposed Easter truce could become the beginning of real progress toward peace, and Ukraine has already put forward a corresponding initiative. He also noted that the Russian side has been informed about Ukraine’s reciprocal approach and the possibility of extending the ceasefire beyond Easter.
