Explosions were reported across temporarily occupied Crimea overnight on July 21, with power outages and fires reported in several locations, according to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.
A powerful explosion was heard near Yalta at around 4:00 a.m. local time. Shortly afterward, large parts of Crimea's southern coast lost electricity.
A major fire also reportedly broke out in the village of Chystenke near Simferopol at what is believed to be the main wholesale distribution center of the Produkty u Doma retail chain. The report has not been independently confirmed.
The chain, established in 2015, operates from stores seized from the Ukrainian retailer ATB after Russia's occupation of Crimea. It runs more than 170 outlets across 56 locations in Crimea and one store in Russia's Krasnodar region.
The reported incidents follow another night of Ukrainian strikes on Russian military and infrastructure targets. On July 20, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces said they had struck seven Russian vessels in the Black and Azov seas and disabled seven energy facilities and substations in occupied Crimea.
The same night, drones also targeted Russia's Moscow region, where monitoring channels reported large fires at a Wildberries warehouse in Podolsk and at the Yuzhnye Vorota industrial park in Domodedovo.
Separately, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) said its Alpha special operations unit struck an FSB coordination center in occupied Kherson region on July 20. Around 100 Russian servicemen were reportedly at the site during the attack, which triggered a large fire.
Russia also faced a combined missile and drone attack overnight into July 21, with explosions and fires reported in Lipetsk, Belgorod, Volgograd and other regions. Drone activity was also reported over occupied Crimea, Anapa and Mariupol.
