Russia came under a combined missile and drone attack overnight into Tuesday, July 21, with explosions and fires reported in Lipetsk, Belgorod, Anapa, Volgograd and other locations, according to OSINT monitoring channels and Russian media.

In Lipetsk, a fire broke out near the city's thermal power plant after a missile alert was issued. The blaze was reported in the area between Lipetsk CHP-2 and the Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) plant. It remains unclear whether either facility was directly hit.

NLMK is Russia's largest steel producer, accounting for around 20% of the country's steel output. While the company says it does not supply military products, Ukrainian authorities have previously alleged that its steel is used by companies manufacturing missiles.

Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov confirmed that the region and several facilities had come under attack.

Missile alerts were also issued in Russia's Belgorod and Volgograd regions. Russian Telegram channels reported debris from intercepted missiles falling over Belgorod and nearby areas. Local authorities said there were no casualties but acknowledged disruptions to water supplies in parts of the city. No further details on possible damage were provided.

Residents of Volgograd reported explosions and air raid sirens overnight after missile alerts were declared, although there has been no official confirmation of any impacts.

Drone activity was also reported over Anapa, occupied Mariupol and Crimea. Explosions were heard in several parts of the occupied peninsula overnight.
