Russian forces launched 58 attack drones overnight into July 21, including Shahed drones (some jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol loitering munitions and Parodiya decoy drones, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The attack began at around 6:00 p.m. on July 20, with drones launched from Russia's Kursk and Oryol regions, as well as occupied Donetsk region and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
Ukraine's response involved fighter aircraft, air defense missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, as well as mobile fire groups.
As of 8:00 a.m. local time, Ukrainian air defenses had neutralized 46 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol and other UAV types.
Air defense operations were conducted across northern, southern and eastern Ukraine.
The Air Force also confirmed that eight attack drones struck targets at seven locations.
"The aerial attack is ongoing, with enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace. Follow safety guidelines," the Air Force said.
